India Bespoke Holidays: Discover the Real India with Earth Trip
India is a country of extraordinary contrasts, where ancient tradition and modern life sit side by side, often within the same street. From the snow-capped Himalayas to the sun-drenched backwaters of the south, India offers an unmatched depth of history, culture and wildlife. At Earth Trip, we’ve travelled these landscapes extensively, moving beyond the well-trodden paths to find the real character of the subcontinent. Explore our India bespoke holidays, built to give you a genuine connection to this extraordinary country.
Our Approach to Tailor-Made India Tours
We don’t offer off-the-shelf packages. Instead, we specialise in tailor-made India tours shaped around your own interests, pace and passions.
Our first-hand knowledge is our greatest asset. Having visited India repeatedly, we’ve personally inspected our hand-picked collection of hotels and lodges, so we know which boutique heritage properties offer a genuinely authentic stay, which wildlife lodges put conservation first, and which retreats are worth the detour. When you book with us, you also gain our vetted network of private drivers, expert guides and community partners, built to make your journey seamless.

The Majesty of Rajasthan and the North
For many, the dream begins in the royal state of Rajasthan. We bypass the crowded tourist hubs to find the lesser-known fortresses, an intimate dinner in a centuries-old haveli, or a camel trek through the Thar Desert away from the main trails.
Our itineraries focus on the architecture that defines the region, the rose-hued walls of Jaipur, the lakeside palaces of Udaipur, and the raw beauty of the desert forts, balanced with time to properly enjoy the local food, from street-side chaat to the refined cuisine of restored royal residences.
See our Heart of Rajasthan: Forts, Palaces & Village Life itinerary, or combine it with Delhi and Agra on our Golden Triangle & Tigers tour.
Wilderness and Wildlife: Custom India Safaris
India’s natural heritage is as remarkable as its monuments. Our custom India safaris are designed for the serious naturalist, whether you want to track the Bengal tiger in Madhya Pradesh, spot leopards in Rajasthan’s scrub forests, or see the one-horned rhinoceros in Assam, and we only work with lodges that put conservation and local communities first.
Our Delhi to Varanasi: Palaces, Wildlife, and Sacred Traditions itinerary combines several of these experiences. See our full approach on the Responsible Travel page.
A Journey for the Soul: Culture and Connection
Beyond the major sights, India holds real spiritual and cultural depth. We build experiences around moments like these:
- Spiritual Rhythms: witnessing the Ganga Aarti in Varanasi, a ceremony largely unchanged for centuries.
- Artisan Heritage: visiting small-scale textile weavers and block printers in rural villages.
- Culinary Explorations: from Kolkata’s street markets to Kerala’s spice plantations.
Explore the south on our Classic Kerala: Backwaters, Tea Estates & Villages itinerary, or travel further south still on South India & Andaman Islands.
Why Choose Earth Trip for Your Luxury India Holidays
To us, true luxury isn’t just about opulent accommodation, it’s the exclusivity of the experience: a private viewing of a monument, your own trusted driver, and the peace of mind that comes from working with people who’ve walked the path before you.
Our philosophy is “slow travel.” We avoid rushed itineraries that lead to traveller fatigue, and build in enough time in each place to actually understand it. Whether you want a grand expedition across the subcontinent or a focused look at one region, we’re here to help design it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes an Earth Trip India holiday different?
Every itinerary is private and tailor-made, built around your own interests and pace. We’ve personally inspected many of the hotels and lodges we recommend, so our advice comes from direct experience.
How long should an India holiday be?
Our itineraries typically run from 10 to 21 days. A Golden Triangle route can work well in 10 days, while combining Rajasthan with South India or the Himalayan foothills suits a longer trip of 2 to 3 weeks.
Is it possible to combine wildlife safaris with cultural sightseeing?
Yes, this is one of the most popular ways to travel India. Many of our itineraries combine tiger reserves in Madhya Pradesh or Rajasthan with the forts and palaces of the Golden Triangle or Rajasthan.
What is “slow travel” and why do you recommend it?
Slow travel means spending enough time in each place to properly experience it, rather than packing in as many stops as possible. We find this leads to a richer, less exhausting trip, and we design our itineraries around it.
Can you build a trip around a specific region of India?
Yes. While many clients combine Rajasthan with the Golden Triangle, we also design focused trips to South India, Kerala, the Himalayan foothills, or the Andaman Islands.
